Tragic Accident Claims Life of 20-Year-Old Alex Fergerson in Orange Township, OH

A heartbreaking traffic accident late Friday night in Orange Township, Ohio, claimed the life of 20-year-old Alex Fergerson, a resident of Troy. The collision occurred at approximately 11:30 p.m. on County Road 25A at the intersection with Kirkwood Road.

Fergerson was traveling northbound on County Road 25A when a Jeep, driven by 46-year-old Travis Blair from Piqua, attempted a left turn onto 25A from Kirkwood Road. Blair failed to yield to Fergerson, striking the motorcycle and causing Fergerson to crash into a nearby cornfield. Emergency responders pronounced Fergerson dead at the scene.

Blair and his passenger, 43-year-old Lindsay Blair, were unharmed in the crash. Authorities later determined that Blair had been drinking before the incident. Despite his refusal to take a field sobriety test or Breathalyzer at the scene, Blair admitted to consuming five drinks prior to the crash. He was cited for Operating a Vehicle Impaired (OVI) and disobeying traffic control devices.

As the investigation continues, the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office is urging the public to drive responsibly and never operate a vehicle under the influence of alcohol. Fergerson’s passing has left the community in mourning, as friends and family remember him as a vibrant young person with a promising future.

Funeral and memorial arrangements will be shared once finalized.
