David Siegel, Young Athlete, Tragically Dies in Road Accident Near Tralee, Co. Kerry
David Siegel, a 24-year-old from Tralee, Co. Kerry, tragically passed away on Sunday, September 14th, following a fatal road traffic accident on the N69 at Ballingowan, near the Ballygarry roundabout.
The incident occurred just after 10 a.m. when David, the sole occupant of the vehicle, was driving along the road. Emergency services arrived promptly at the scene, but David was pronounced dead at the site of the crash.
David was known for his athletic achievements, having earned an All-Ireland silver medal in the Intermediate shot putt at the 2018 Irish Schools Track and Field Championships. His dedication to sports and his kind-hearted nature left a lasting impression on those who knew him.
Following the accident, the local Gardaí confirmed that the Coroner was notified, and David’s body was taken to the mortuary at University Hospital Kerry for a post-mortem examination. Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the crash.
