Mitchell Hughes, a 69-year-old resident of Little Rock, tragically passed away on September 10th after a devastating house fire. The fire, which occurred on Dallas Lane in Pulaski County, is suspected to have started after Hughes and others were grilling on the back porch earlier that day.
Authorities arrived at the scene around 9:03 p.m. and found the house fully engulfed in flames. Despite efforts to rescue him, deputies and firefighters were unable to reach Hughes in time. His charred remains were found inside the residence, and attempts to break windows to save him were unsuccessful.
The community is in shock, and many have shared their condolences on social media. A neighbor who called 911 stated that Hughes was likely still inside the home, and the fire may have been ignited by the grilling activity.
