Dr. Jeffrey Meldrum, Renowned Anthropologist and Professor at Idaho State University, Passes Away at 67 After Brief Battle with Brain Cancer

Dr. Jeffrey Meldrum, a respected academic and anthropologist, passed away at the age of 67 following a short but brave battle with brain cancer.

Meldrum was a full professor in the Department of Biological Sciences at Idaho State University, where he dedicated over three decades to studying anatomy, anthropology, and primate locomotion.

Born on May 24, 1958, Dr. Meldrum's career was distinguished by his expertise in evolutionary morphology and human bipedalism. He earned his B.S. in zoology from Brigham Young University in 1982, an M.S. in zoology in 1984, and a Ph.D. in anatomical sciences from Stony Brook University in 1989. His research led him to study the mechanics of vertebrate locomotion and contributed significantly to the academic community.

Outside the classroom, Dr. Meldrum was widely known for his exploration of cryptozoology, particularly Sasquatch. His book "Sasquatch: Legend Meets Science" sparked both intrigue and controversy, yet it solidified his place as a thoughtful voice in Bigfoot discussions.

He is survived by his family, colleagues, students, and a global network of admirers. His legacy as a passionate educator and researcher will continue to inspire future generations.
